It was a brilliant day for me.  I was very nervous about riding at Iwade because I was racing for the teams for the first time since May 2000, and also I was very worried about my riding because last time I rode was at Wimbledon's Press and Practice Day on 23rd March 03 and that was over 2 months ago and the last time I raced against people was last year (not sure when).  The tapes went up in my first race (I was the first one to go out - no chance to watch anyone else going out first!!) and I won it!!!  I couldn't believe it and it was not what I was expecting.  I went out for the 2nd ride and I won again.

Anyway I scored 8 points for the Lynn Romney Falcons to give them a boost to come 1st overall in the semi-final against the Norwich Stars and Belle Vue Greggs Colts.  I dropped only one point from scoring the maximum points (1st, 1st and 2nd).

We had to wait for the second semi-final to finish, which was won by the Weymouth Wildcats.  Then our two teams and the highest points scoring runner up team, which was Belle Vue Greggs Colts, went into the final.  In the final I scored another 8 points, again I only dropped one point from the maximum points (1st, 1st and 2nd), and my team came 2nd overall, which is not bad.  The Weymouth Wildcats won the final and the Belle Vue Greggs Colts came 3rd.  So I scored 16 points for the Lydd Romney Falcons and only dropped 2 points - this was my first time to pick up the highest points for the team from 6 rides.

At the end of the day the winners got the trophy and I won a trophy for the rider of the day, which gave me a surprise and I was pleased with myself and I think I deserved it!
