Well it was a bit of a disappointing day for me.

I was struggling through the 3 legs because I believe that I was still struggling with the clutch problem for 2 legs.  It was because the lever on the gearbox had come undone and there was oil on the clutch which may have caused it to slip (I think it was caused by too much oil on the primary chain) and also I changed the spring.

In the leg 3 I made a better start after I did a bit a work on the clutch, but its didn't quite work out for me into the first corner and I wasn't where I wanted to be.  The start seemed to be very important on the day because the track was very dusty and when I got in the dust while I was riding it was just like going round the corner with your eyes closed - so I couldn't really risk myself to go faster round the corner because of the dust.

I made the final and was quite surprised because I didn't think I had done that well in the 3 legs.  In the final I made quite a good start but not ideal for me as I started on the inside and I was not really ready for doing this yet but it worked out that I was away from the dust which put me in a better position to stay close in the battle for 3rd place with 3 other riders.  In the middle of the challenge against the 3 riders my engine blew up for the first time for about 10 years of my racing - the last engine which seized up on me was on my 100cc bike.

Therefore I didn't finish the race.  I still have no idea what caused it or what the damage is but when I took the engine out I could see that the 2 values on the inlet side had been bent by the piston and it looks like serious damage to me.  I may not be able to continue to learn on the 500cc if I can't get it repaired if there is a very high cost but I'll have to wait and see.  The season isn't over yet because I've still got the 350cc to race.
