I won the '2004 Rider of the Year' award for the Swindon Sprockets last night at the Swindon Speedway dinner dance. I would like to say thank you to all the fans who voted for me and the kind sponsors of the trophy. I'd also like to thank Artdeans for their sponsorship. I'm already looking forward to next year and I am hoping to do even better after my first full season with the Swindon Sprockets this year. I have had a lot to learn and I would like to thank Martin Satchell for his patience and belief in me and his help with my racing which has given me more confidence and focus. I'd also like to thank Rob Bamford and all my team mates for their support.

3rd October 2004
I was asked to ride for the Swindon Robins tonight against the Polish Select but it was called off and I'm quite disappointed because it would have been a big step for me and would have been a great experience and I was really looking forward to it too.

I have signed a contract to become a full asset of the Swindon Club which I am very pleased about and I am hoping to improve a lot towards the end of the season to make a better run next year. I'd like to thank the Swindon promotion for offering me the chance and thinking I have a future in speedway.

After a disappointing start for Weymouth Wildcats I decided to resign from the Wildcats. After doing 2 practice meetings I noticed there was something wrong with my clutch and I had noticed it a bit at Weymouth but the 2nd half meetings on a bigger track told me for sure. I found out that the problem with my clutch had been with me from the beginning of the season. The clutch was not responding well so I've done some changes for the 2nd half practices and I finally got it working properly last Thursday which I am pleased about because I was worried that I needed to find some money to buy another one but I collected all the best clutch parts I've got on the speedway bikes and put them into one and it seems to work.
At the same time I signed for the Swindon Sprockets last Thursday which I'm more happy with because the track seems to suit me. Now I can't wait to get back on the bike. My first fixture is Monday 10th May.

As things haven't turned out as I had hoped at Weymouth in my first season in Conference League Speedway, I have decided to leave the 'Wildcats'. I will let you know what I'm going to be doing soon.
8th March 2004
I went to the Weymouth Wildcats Press and Practice day last Saturday and it went well until the practice on the track when I started having trouble with the carb on the new engine and a bit with the one on the other bike.
I didn't get a chance to let you know that I did manage to get my new engine - it took me all night Thursday and Friday and a bit of Saturday morning before we went off to Weymouth to put the engines in and finish off the bikes. I was very busy and didn't get a chance to sit down once!!!
I'm sorry that the pictures of my new bikes are not available yet - I'll just put them up when I find the time - sorry if you've been checking the site expecting to see them. They'll be here soon!

(Speedway) It's a shame that I didn't get a chance to practice on my new bikes yet which are still not quite ready. It's due to my tuner being ill for about a week, so therefore the engines were just not ready in time. I'm getting one engine that will be ready next week and the new engine that I'm buying for the spare bike may not be ready in time. I will try to find out next week. If the spare engine is not ready then I will have to use one of my Grasstrack engines.
(Grasstrack) I have finally got my engine rebuilt (500cc) that blew up last year at Horley on the 29th June 2003!!!! Now I have got my two Grasstrack engines (500cc) ready for this season. I may be moving on to new frame kits for the 500cc bikes but it's not confirmed yet. I want to rebuild my 350cc engine before I can ride it but I have to wait until I've got enough money!!!!
I've just done my 2nd practice since Reading at Iwade to test out my new Grasstrack engine that was rebuilt after my tuner told me to go and test it. It was quite a good day apart from the freezing cold weather and I was very surprised that the track was in such an excellent condition. I found the track quite slick and I was playing with the set up on my Grasstrack engine to suit the track.

I've been offered a team place for the Weymouth Wildcats for this season. I'm looking forward to the season starting in March. I've spent lots of time and money over the winter to get new speedway bikes together. I'll be riding two new frames and one new engine plus the engine I used last season.
It's going to be a real tough challenge for me. My aim is to get at least 5 points average to help the team and for me to make the difference and get some good interest for next year - hopefully I'll get involved in the Premier League.
I'm hoping for some sponsorship to help me with the travelling costs, tyres, methanol and oil - if you're interested in helping me with my Speedway then please go to the sponsors page and send me an e-mail.
Don't worry about me not doing Grasstrack this season because of the Speedway. I will try to do as much Grasstrack as I can still and hopefully I will do the 350cc British Championships, Under 21 British Championships and I hope to have better luck in the Masters (if I get in).
I gave my old bike that I won't be using for the new season a spin around Reading training track last Sunday to get my speed back and experiment.
19th January 2004
I have invested a lot over the winter and have got a new sponsor and will now be able to start the 2004 season with 2 new complete bikes. I'm really looking forward to the new season and being offered a Conference league team place in the near future.
The bikes should be ready in February - I may put a picture up of my new bikes on this site.
Keep looking for updates.
